Each initial consultation with Dr Nick and our Treatment Coordinator Tiah takes 30- 45 minutes. You will receive a customised treatment plan along with flexible payment options.
We offer flexible interest-free payment plans starting at $30 per week. Spread the cost out over 24 months or pay upfront and receive a 5% discount! If you have private health cover, this may help make aligner treatment even more affordable.
This is when things get exciting! Dr Nick will create your digital treatment plan using a 3D model of your teeth and from this plan, your customised premium clear aligners will be created. Once the aligners arrive at our practice you will come in for a 45 minute appointment to have them fitted and learn how to care for your new appliance.

Dr Nick is one of Brisbane’s most experienced specialist orthodontists having created lasting smiles for over 7000 patients during the course of his career. With a strong belief in combining personalised care with the very best of orthodontic technologies, Dr Nick established NK Orthodontist in 1995 and has been creating beautiful smiles for patients of all ages ever since.
With extensive experience in all orthodontic appliances, Dr Nick is able to offer his patients a broad range of options when it comes to their treatment. These include metal braces, ceramic braces, Invisalign clear aligners and functional appliances. Dr Nick believes in taking the time to get to know his patients in addition to undertaking a thorough diagnosis of the orthodontic condition, to determine the most suitable treatment plan.
Dr Nick holds a Bachelor of Dental Science (BDSc Melb, 1987) from the University of Melbourne and a Masters of Dental Science in Orthodontics (MDSc Qld, 1995) from the University of Queensland. Aligner F.A.Q.
Each clear aligner has a pre-programmed amount of tooth movement built-in. So when you place the aligner onto your teeth it gently applies the pressure to move your teeth into the shape of the aligner. Once your teeth fit snuggly into that aligner, it’s time to move to the next aligner. Each aligner is normally worn for around 1 to 2 weeks.
To keep your tooth movement progressing as fast as possible we recommend wearing your aligners for 22 hours a day, only taking them out to eat and drink (though you can drink water with the aligner in). If you have a special event and have not worn your aligner as much as you should have then you may need to wear that set a little longer than a week so you can make up for the lost time.
Cleaning your aligners with your toothbrush and toothpaste is normally all that’s required.
At NK Orthodontist our patients change their clearaligners between 1 to 2 weeks. We also recommend changing your aligners in the morning. After you’ve inserted the new Invisalign trays, bite down on your chewies/bite sticks for a couple of minutes to ensure a great fit. We also recommend massaging the trays over the top of your attachments daily to facilitate engagement.
Yes! Clear aligner treatment gives excellent flexibility when it comes to having dental work during orthodontics (such as fillings, crowns and implants). Preferably it is best to have such work completed before your aligner treatment starts, but life its not always predictable!
